Jerry Clay Academy
A new logo for a new Academy
When Jerry Clay Lane Junior and Infant School decided to convert to an Academy they asked us to redesign the school logo and identity to better represent the school’s aims and objectives as an Academy. The school had asked the pupils to draw their ideas for the new logo. We then sat down with all the key members of staff to choose the most common elements in the drawings to use in the new Academy’s logo. A shield shape was very popular as were owls and stars. The school also wanted the logo to be made up of the four school house colours – red, yellow, blue and green. With this in mind we created a new shield shaped logo for Jerry Clay Academy.
The logo was designed to work both as a full colour logo; as used on the signage and on the school stationery, as well as a one colour logo. We printed the logo in silver ink on blue, red, yellow and green t-shirts which were given to the children on their first day at the new academy. These are still worn for sports days when the school houses compete against each other.
