Holy Trinity Primary School in Halifax first got in touch with us in 2014 to ask us to design two candle characters as their new school mascots. The candle characters proved such a hit with the pupils that the school wanted to add to their ‘candle family’.

The school commissioned four more candle character designs for their learning development plan to symbolise their key issues. These were maths, writing / spelling / handwriting, cross-curricular subjects for all (with special focus on SEN children) and British values embedded in Christian values. We rose to the challenge and really enjoyed further developing the original character designs to create four new school characters – two boys and two girls.

The primary school has recently had a new extension built to enrich the curriculum for their pupils even more. As part of this, they asked us to design three more candles to feature on the windows of the new extension. The characters we designed symbolise cooking, music and Godly play.

The school now has a ‘family’ of nine school characters, which really motivate and engage their pupils.
